1986年，中国开始实施九年义务教育政策，1987年，解海龙便开始用摄影记录中国贫困地区的教育状况。在其后的30多年里，他不断深耕这一题材，持续用摄影反映中国基础教育的发展变化。希望工程公益事业启动后不久，解海龙成为其志愿者，走过26个省区120多个县，行程超过25000公里，拍摄的希望工程系列照片被中国青少年发展基金会采用，其中《大眼睛》被用作希望工程的宣传标识。
　　30多年来，解海龙的希望工程摄影专题在国内外产生巨大反响，推动了希望工程公益事业深入人心，帮助众多贫困失学儿童重返课堂，并帮助改善贫困地区办学条件，为中国教育的公平发展发挥着不可替代的作用。本展览展出解海龙拍摄的40幅希望工程系列代表摄影作品，并向希望工程公益事业致敬。
　　展览同期，由中国画报出版社出版社的“中国纪实摄影名家典藏丛书”之一《我要上学》将举办首发式，首发式由龙影廊、中国画报出版社出版社、雅昌艺术印刷有限公司、豆豆摄团共同举办。该画册旨在以解海龙拍摄的75幅经典摄影作品，反映其摄影生涯的重大成就，也为中国纪实摄影留下珍贵视觉文献。本书为中英韩三种语言出版。该画册首发仪式将邀请国家外文局领导、中国摄影家协会领导、浙江省文联领导共同出席开幕式。
　　In 1986, China began to implement the nine-year compulsory education policy. In 1987, Xie Hailong began to use photography to record the education situation in poor areas of China. In the following 30 years, he constantly cultivated this theme and continued to use photography to reflect the development and changes of basic education in China. Shortly after the start of the Project Hope public welfare, Xie Hailong became a volunteer and traveled more than 25000 kilometers through more than 120 counties in 26 provinces and regions. The series of photos taken by the project hope were adopted by the China Youth Development Foundation, of which "big eyes" was used as the publicity logo of the project hope.
　　For more than 30 years, Xie Hailong's Project Hope photography topic has generated great repercussions at home and abroad, which has promoted the public welfare undertakings of project hope to be deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, helped many poor out of school children return to the classroom, and helped improve the school running conditions in poor areas, playing an irreplaceable role in the fair development of China's education. This exhibition displays 40 representative works of Project Hope series taken by Xie Hailong, and pays tribute to the public welfare undertakings of project hope.
　　During the same period of the exhibition, I want to go to school, one of the "collection of famous Chinese documentary photographers" published by China Pictorial Publishing House, will hold a launch ceremony, which will be jointly held by long yinglang, China Pictorial Publishing House, Yachang Art Printing Co., Ltd. and Doudou photography group. The album aims to interpret the 75 classic photography works taken by Hailong, reflect the major achievements of his photography career, and also leave precious visual documents for Chinese documentary photography. This book is published in Chinese, English and Korean. Leaders of the State Administration of foreign affairs, the China Photographers Association and the Zhejiang Federation of literary and art circles will be invited to attend the opening ceremony of the album.
